Les 2 dernières semaines de course, où il ne s'est rien passé de spécial. Le classement étant quasi assuré avant ces 12 dernières étapes, Patrick Malandain a bien laché l'affaire et finalement Italo Orru finit a seulement 30minutes derrière. Rainer aura gagné toutes les épreuves sauf une. Il finit à un peu moins de 10km/h de moyenne.
